Warranty Overview
Throwback Automotive products are backed by limited warranty coverage. General terms apply to all products we sell, while Optispark distributors include their own specific warranty options. Please review the details below for full coverage terms.
General Product Warranty
All products sold by Throwback Automotive are covered by a limited warranty for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, with unlimited mileage. Coverage is limited to repair or replacement, at our discretion, for failures caused by defects in materials or workmanship during the warranty period.
- Applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
- Proof of purchase is required for warranty claims on products purchased through authorized resellers. Orders placed directly through Throwback Automotive’s website are automatically recorded and do not require additional proof.
- Normal wear and tear, improper installation, vehicle-related conditions, or misuse are not covered.
- No coverage is provided for labor costs, towing, rental, or other incidental expenses.
Optispark Warranty
Coverage Summary
Every Optispark is warrantied against defects in materials or workmanship, with no mileage limitations. All warranty service is performed in-house by Throwback Automotive.
Within the first 30 days, units may be repaired or replaced at our discretion. After 30 days, warranty service will focus on repairs. A replacement unit will only be provided if inspection confirms the damage is significant enough that repair is not possible.
Standard Coverage (1 Year)
- Included with all Optispark purchases
- Coverage period: one (1) year from the date of purchase
Extended Coverage (5 Year)
- Available at checkout or within 14 days of delivery
- Coverage period: five (5) years from the date of purchase
- Includes one (1) rebuild or replacement during the coverage period
- Priority handling and dedicated tech support
What Is Not Covered
- Oil or coolant contamination
- Tampering or disassembly (including cap removal)
- Physical damage (impact, crushing, fire, immersion)
- Improper installation (misalignment, incorrect timing, overtightening, incompatible components)
- Neglect or misuse (including operation with leaks or unresolved vehicle issues)
- Normal wear and tear
- Failures not caused by a manufacturing defect
Warranty Claim Process
- Contact Throwback Automotive before returning any units.
- Customer is responsible for shipping costs to return units for warranty evaluation. If a defect covered under warranty is confirmed, Throwback Automotive will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement unit back to the customer.
- The complete assembly, including electrical and vacuum harnesses, must be returned.
- Returned units are inspected. If coverage criteria are met, the unit will be repaired or replaced in accordance with the terms of this warranty.
Additional Terms
- Coverage is limited to evaluation, repair, or replacement at our discretion.
- Warranty is void if serial numbers or identification marks are removed or altered.
- Warranty does not apply to units used in racing, competition, or any form of off-road/high-performance application.
Important Note for Shops & Installers
If purchasing on behalf of a customer, please provide the end user’s full name in the order notes at checkout so warranty coverage can be properly recorded.
